Black Confederates
We are often led to believe that somehow the
War For Southern Independence was fought to allow the suppression
of the Black man, but these articles show that to be a misconception.
Diverse Confederates
The myth exists that the Confederate Army was a sea of lily-white
Protestant faces with an occasional black "body servant." The truth
is something far different.
The Confederate Army had more than 10,000 Native American soldiers
from more than two-dozen tribes, including Cherokee Brigadier General
Stand Watie. There were more than 5000 Hispanic Confederates and
some, like Col. Ambrosio Gonzales and Loretta Velazquez, even came
from Cuba. Nearly 3,500 Jewish Confederates lent their service and
were among the last to die for the South.
Women And The War
Many times history tends to leave out, or forget, very important
facts. We believe that the great Southern Women of the War For
Southern Independence have suffered just such an injustice. Click

topic.
Reconstruction
What is known as the reconstruction of the seceded States is a very sad
epoch to recall, and no American who loves his country likes to bring back its harsh memories.
Yet it is a matter of history and it needs be recorded in order that the part which the North
and the South played during that period should be fully understood.
